Welcome to the first of our regular Twist Specials, where co-hosts Rick Rose (recently named one of 16 HIV advocates to watch in 2016) and Mark McNease devote the podcast to guests from the fields of news, arts, culture, politics and activism. This week we have journalist Segann March, the Education Watchdog Reporter for the Shreveport Times. Her recent article shines a light on the continuing presence of HIV and AIDS in communities across the country, including Louisiana, which had the third highest rate of new infections last year.
About Segann:
Segann March is a former Hoosier and recent graduate from Indiana University. She has a serious passion for sociology, traveling, animals and cooking. She likes to watch comedy movies in her down time. To Segann, life is simple. She wants to be a voice for people who can't speak for themselves , to continue her advocacy for underrepresented communities and to change stereotypes.
